On Your TV
Everyone can see what the headset is showing on your TV with our included Google Chromecast (or your own if you happen to already own one) and Wi-Fi. Sharing the action to a laptop or desktop running Google Chrome or Edge is also an option. The picture quality is reduced over Wi-Fi, but it's perfect for keeping everyone entertained.
Vs Oculus Go
As the Oculus Go (which we also rent) only works with one controller and neither it or headset track 3D motion, the Quest 2 is a much better choice for gaming. The Go is perfect for 360 degree videos and virtual travel, but the Quest 2 has two controllers and room scale tracking, making it a real games machine. It's also not possible to share what the headset is displaying to a TV with the Oculus Go.
What's Needed
- At least 2 x 2 meters of space, but a bit more makes a big difference.
- Wi-Fi for multiplayer games and sharing the action to a TV or computer.
- If you're using our included Google Chromecast, a free Google Home app is needed on your phone or tablet just for the initial setup of the Chromecast.
How Rentals Work
- Choose dates that suit, start & end on any business days.
- Book online or via email and complete rental T&Cs & ID.
- Payment isn't due until close to shipping.
- We ship nationwide to home, work or collection point.
- Step by step instructions are sent through to you.
- Prepaid return label included for an easy return.
Pricing
As an example, an Oculus Quest 2 arriving Thursday, popping it back into the post on Monday, is just $93 plus postage and refundable bond. Full pricing can be seen here for shorter or longer rentals. It's only an extra $22 for a full week rental.
Courier pricing with NZ Post is $17.90 to your address and the same for the return. Christchurch shipping is cheaper being local. Rural delivery addresses have a $5.30 surcharge. If you're in the North Island and it's an urgent rental, we may need to use a faster Courier Post service which adds $18. We don't have any handling fees and no profit is made from postage.
You can also rent a second Quest 2 with no additional shipping cost.
Lastly there's a single refundable security bond taken with all rentals, returned to you when the gear is returned safely to us. The refundable bond is $150.
